In our third collaboration of 2026, Moustafa of Yaseen Artisan Perfume House and myself took a similar approach to working together: Moose sent me a Liter of his legendary Jungle Samurai accord and gave me complete creative freedom. The catch? He also sent me a liter and half of vintage Guerlain Mitsouko eau de Parfum to be used in place of ethanol. Wild. To make Mitsamurai, I tried to play into the existent framework, elevate the existent notes of Mitsouko, and almost “work around” the massively-dense Jungle Samurai accord. The result is a dichotomous perfume that oscillates between light and dark - a yin yang - of an artisan attar-as-spray perfume, all carried by a vintage French legend.

The idea for the Jungle Samurai blend came from acquiring a very special oud oil distillation from Aceh, Indonesia.

Upon smelling it, my brain immediately conjured the image of a samurai in the jungle. I went straight to work making a blend around the mental picture: A fusion of exotic oud oils with Japanese aesthetics contrasted with musk, and rare florals for maximum vintage vibes. This part of the blend is then carried by my TX-10 tincture - a Mongolian and Siberian  Musk pod and grain tincture that was started November of 2021.
