JINX X ELIXIR ATTAR REMIX
15ML/30ML
This item can only be purchased as a set of two.
In a completely unprecedented act within the heavily gatekept perfume industry, M. Ahmed Moustafa of Elixir Attar and myself decided to open up our safeguarded formulas to each other for a collaborative project: To remix each other’s releases.
I chose to remix Ahmed’s Taifi Classique, a longtime favorite of mine. The JINX take on the EA release bends the middle eastern structure into a more Japanese narrative: The Taif rose was replaced with Japanese Rosa Rugosa, the sandalwood was divided and supercharged with hinoki, and the base amber accord, the house amber accord used in JEMS7 was modified with a kodo sensibility in mind. We called it: Kyoto Klassique
Ahmet chose to remix his recent favorite JINX, J-D’Orient, after being drawn to its vintage vibes. The goal of the Elixir Attar iteration was to slightly modernize the compositional structure, and replace some of the animalics with a hyper-unique, maple-smoke infused, house co2 extracted Costus. He called it: J-D’Orient: Costus.
